1. Overview

You have the right to request deletion of your personal data from Haven. This policy explains how to submit a deletion request, what data Haven deletes, and what data Haven is required to retain by law.

2. How to Request Data Deletion

To request deletion of your personal data:

• Email privacy@youfoundhaven.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request"
• Include the email address associated with your Haven account
• Include your full name and any other information to help Haven identify your account

Haven will verify your identity before processing your request. Haven will respond within 30 days and will complete the deletion within 30 days of verification.

3. What Haven Deletes

Upon a confirmed deletion request, Haven will permanently delete:

• Your account and profile information
• Your learning activity and course progress data
• Your community posts and reviews
• Your personal preferences and settings
• Your marketing email subscription data

4. What Haven Is Required to Retain

Some data must be retained by Haven for legal and regulatory reasons even after a deletion request:

• Transaction records: Kept for 7 years as required by Nigerian tax law
• SCUML compliance records: Kept as required by anti-money laundering regulations
• Legal dispute records: Kept for as long as necessary to resolve any active legal disputes
• Fraud prevention data: A minimal record may be retained to prevent the same individual from creating a new fraudulent account

5. Account Closure vs Data Deletion

Closing your Haven account is not the same as requesting data deletion. When you close your account, your data is retained for 30 days in case you change your mind. After 30 days, your personal data is deleted automatically. If you want immediate deletion, submit a formal data deletion request as described above.
